South Africa

We have been working with South Africa for some weeks. Please tell me something about the country.

It`s a country with many different nationalities. It`s a country with a long history about human rigths. It`s a country with many poor people. Their national song is written with 5 different languages.  75% of the people in South Africa is Africans. 13% of the people is white. The colors symbolize in the flag: Black: South Africa's people. Yellow: Rich in minerals. Green: earth and animals. Red: blood flowed during the fight for freedom. Blue: The sky and water. White: Peace between the people. Religions: 80% Christians. Other Hindu and Islam with more. Capital: Pretoria. They are paying with the coin: Zar. 

 

Who is Nelson Mandela

Tell me what you know about Nelson Mandela. You are not going to make a long and detailed biografy - pretend that I don't know this man. How would you introduce him for me?

He is a man, who fighted for the black people in South Africa. When he was young, he became a member of ANC. The white people put him into prison, because they were afraid that the rest of the world could see the wrong things in apartheid. After 28 years in prison stopped apartheid.

1) Apartheid:
To hold someone apart from other people, because of their skin colour or else.

2) Segregation
To do something special for people, because they are a little different than others.

3) Discrimination
To treat people differently, because of their skin colour or religion.
